Voices Of Africa Logo Decision: It’s Logo Idea #6
From my warm and toasty and hotel room in chilly and rainy New York City (I’m in town for my son’s wedding), I wanted to thank everyone in the Voices Of Africa community who weighed in on which one of the six Daniel Kamweru-designed logos we should move forward with (see https://lnkd.in/gXET6sXu).
I think by far logo ideas #2 and #4 received the most positive attention. However, against popular demand, we’ve decided to go with logo idea #6!!! In his comment about logo idea #6, perhaps John "Zehn" Baskerville, PMP®said it best......
“Number 6: Professional, clean, quickly digestible, and (critically) its simplicity lends itself to the numerous canvas logos ultimately must find themselves [on] (websites, apparel, print collateral, digital media, etc.). Honorable mention to all the other designs for their creativity. Careful not to try and communicate "everything" the brand is, or is [not] about, in the logo itself.
Exercise - think of the world's most popular brands, organizations, etc... Assume you never heard of them; would you know what they were about if you just looked at their logo for the first time? A general rule: The logo's job is an identifier - The brand's job is to educate its community on what it's about. Considering all the above, "6" hits the mark.”
In addition to the well-trained and astute Mr. Baskerville, the following community members also chose logo #6 to help spearhead the Voices Of Africa brand going forward:
Julian B. Kiganda Maraki Mohammed Ernestine Carmichael Ndifreke 'Ndi' Hemi Ron Foster Shawn Tidwell Stephanie Vance Patience Jim Crawford Cami Harris, MBA Faith Oneya Paulina Sobczak Josiane Uwineza Célia Paka-Kini Robert Cope
In gratitude for aligning with our thinking, the above folks along with Mr. Baskerville will receive a $10.00 Starbuck gift card from Voices Of Africa provided we have a valid email address. (If your email address doesn’t display on your LinkedIn profile or you don’t want your gift card sent to the email address on LinkedIn, please DM me the email address you want me to send the gift card.)
In the coming weeks and months please look for much more from Voices Of Africa on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and media outlets near you to stay informed on what we’re doing to help the Diaspora prosper! And most importantly please keep an eye out for our platform launch in four to five weeks.
